Product Review: Sharwoods stir fry melts

Sweet & Sour Stir fry melts

Described as zingy with a touch of ginger!

I found these in the sale shelf in our local Morrison’s for 25p for the pack.

I haven’t tried them before and thought as we both liked sweet and sour, why not!

Sharwoods described on the internet as

“Sharwoods is a British food company , Which specialises in Asian food, established in 1889”

I have used Sharwoods before for various sauces and accompaniments and I’ve always been happy!

Back to this recipe, I used chicken, mushrooms, mixed frozen peppers and red onion …

I also have a brand stone new wok!

Chicken first, then the veggies… Until browned and soft

Apologies for the blurry pictures!

Next for the main event… A tiny pot of sauce, which smelled not dissimilar to Branston Pickle!

Once in the pan, it went a beautiful red colour, and the smell was amazing! Ginger, garlic, like a really good Chinese takeout sweet and sour. I did add some water so I had more sauce!

I served it with some Microwave egg rice (Tesco 53p)

OK. Got to say that when we used them they seemed to have more smell than taste. Was a little disappointing.
We found the knorr ones much better.
